SEMA 2009: Hennessey HPE700 Camaro

We've had more updates, videos, and teaser pics of the Hennessey HPE700 Camaro than perhaps any car in the last year. News bit after news bit has surfaced over and over again, building hype around the car that becomes the first Camaro to sport the mighty Corvette ZR-1's motor.

And that motor is, of course, blessed with some power adders to boost horsepower to 725 and torque to 741 lb-ft. That's good enough for a claimed 3.5 second run to 60 mph and a quarter mile time of 11.3 seconds at 126 mph. And if you're the sort of person who likes to carve corners as well as go fast in a straight line, the HPE700 also reportedly pulls 1.01g's on the skidpad.

If you are a fan of the HPE700 (and who isn't?), be prepared to pay the price and do it quickly. Of the 24 that are going to be built, only 5 are not spoken for at the $119,500 price tag.
