Showing off what is obviously a nice blend of power and suspension tweaks, the 2010 Mustang FR500CJ looks quite capable in this testing video. Obviously the new aluminum engine is helping shed some weight off the front end.
We already knew that Ford would be continuing the Cobra Jet, a drag ready ride from the factory, for the 2010 model year. And now the new CJ has already been out for a little testing recently at Milan Dragway in Michigan.
There are some differences, besides the styling, between the '09 and '10 models. Under the hood is a massive 3.4 liter Whipple supercharger that forces air into the 5.4L V8, more so than the previous model's FRPP blower. The interior gets a Liberty clutchless V-Gate style shifter and various gauges, buttons and toggles that give it a nice racey look.
Full details on the car will be available when it makes it's debut at SEMA in November. Until then, check out the Cobra Jet making a 1/4 mile pass in the video.
