Jay Leno gets a 2011 Mustang GT in his garage
It's no secret that Jay Leno is a huge car guy - and has what is arguably the nicest collection of them on the planet. So one could figure that his opinion on cars is worth its weight in gold, seeing as how the man has driven practically every car worth driving over the years.
In the latest installment of Jay Leno's garage, the late night mogul tries out a 2011Mustang GT. And not only is he impressed with the power and performance of Ford's new pony, he is very impressed with the build quality.

Video: Hennessey twin-turbo Camaro boasts 847 rear wheel horsepower!
Is too much horsepower a bad thing? Is there such a thing as too much power? We raise these eternal questions thanks to the 2010 Hennessey HPE1000 Twin-Turbo Camaro and it's insane power rating of 847hp and 801 lb-ft of torque - at the rear wheels.
If that is a tad too crazy for you, consider the tame HPE800, which produces a mild 815 horsepower and 788 pound-feet of torque at the motor. Surely that will be a more reasonable grocery getter.
Check out the video below to see the HPE1000 laying down the goods on a dyno. We're surprised the sheer torque didn't alter the rotation of the earth, or at least Hennessey's shop.
Video: 2011 Shelby GT500, now with better sound!
A few days back we had a video featuring a 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 making the rounds at Virginia International Raceway, besting the '10 model's time by 9 seconds. While the video was nice, the sound wasn't the greatest. To correct this travesty, this new video has enough good noise to make up for the first.

Videos: 2011 Ford Mustangs already in the 10's
The 2011 Ford Mustang is already one of the more powerful Mustangs ever offered. It also promises to have a boatload of potential for those so inclined to improve upon what Ford has created, which is most everyone who purchases one. The Mustang has always been a blank canvas of sorts for those who want to make it faster.
The first to achieve a 10 second quarter mile run in a 2011 model are the folks at JPC Racing. Thanks to 4.56 gears, tighter upper and lower control arms, racing slicks, and a 100hp shot of nitrous. The best time they recorded was a 10.96 @ 125.75 mph.
A little while later, Evolution Performance ran a 10.88 @ 126.66 mph using 3.73 gears, a prototype cool air intake, Eaton Trutrac differential, D.O.T. approved racing tires and a 100 shot of nitrous.
These numbers are certainly impressive in themselves, and show what kind of potential the new 5.0 possesses. Given some time to play around with the new mill, we are excited to see what kind of untapped potential it has.

SpeedFactory Selected to be the Exclusive Distributor for the new BBS Flow-Formed CH-R Road Wheel
Atlanta, May 5th, 2010 – SpeedFactory, the leader in modern Mopar supercars, has been selected to be the exclusive distributor for BBS's new flow-formed CH-R road wheel for all Chrysler and Dodge applications.
The prototype CH-R road wheel for Chrysler/Dodge applications was first introduced to the US market when it appeared in Mopar Alley on SpeedFactory's 700HP "SF700R" Challenger at the 2009 SEMA Show.
The BBS designed and manufactured CH-R wheel employs the company's pressure cast and flow-form technologies to achieve a superior stiffness-to-weight ratio and is used on factory built race cars from Ferrari and BMW. The CH-R features back milled spokes, laser etched 'Motorsports' lettering on the wheel center and a unique stainless steel rim protector.

Mike Brillanti, President, SpeedFactory Cars on the collaboration with BBS says "superior high performance parts are a prerequisite to building a SpeedFactory supercar and we required a wheel that was very stiff, durable and as light as possible. The BBS developed CH-R is all that plus it's a tremendous value. It adds a serious motorsports edge to our cars .....We're thrilled to be the exclusive distributor and to be able to offer the CH-R to all our SpeedFactory customers "

Video: 2011 Ford Mustang GT500 runs VIR
We already know that the 2011 Mustang V6 and GT handily beat down the previous models in pretty much every performance test, so it should come as no surprise that the new GT500 is poised to do the same thing. This video, released by Ford, shows just that.
Shot at Virginia International Speedway, the video shows a 2011 GT500 being put through its paces and obliterating the previous GT500's total time by 9 seconds to the tune of 2:58.5.

Mr. Norm's Garage Sox and Martin Challenger package
What is old is new again. Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin dominated NHRA racing back in the 60's and 70's, and in the process made their red white and blue Hemi powered Plymouths famous. That patriotic paint scheme is arguable the most recognizable in drag racing history.
Mr. Norm's Garage has teamed up with Diane Sox (Buddy's wife) and Buddy Martin to create a small run of cars based on the new Dodge Challenger. These cars feature the same red, white, and blue paint scheme as the drag cars, a Cuda grille and tail panel, hood scoop, retro-style wheels. Kenne Bell supercharger, Hotchkis suspension, and a custom leather interior.
Three different models will be offered. A 625 horsepower "base" model, a 725 hp Super Stock Edition, and a 900 hp Pro Stock edition. The very first collectors edition will be raffled off at at the 2011 Mopars at the Strip event in Las Vegas to benefit the Ronnie Sox Foundation, a charity created to benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital after Sox lost his battle with cancer in 2006.

GeigerCars Corvette Grand Sport
While the Corvette ZR1 is certainly the king of the hill when it comes to 'Vettes, the Grand Sport is no slouch. But now those who desire ZR1-like performance from their GS's have the answer, and it comes to us via GeigerCars.
Geiger bolts a supercharger to the GS' 6.2 liter V8, bringing horsepower up from 430 to 588. This helps the 'vette go from 0-60 mph in under four seconds. While this may not quite be up to the ZR1's 3.3 second mark, it gets the GS much closer to big brother's performance.
Press Release
GeigerCars.de GmbH - Corvette Grand Sport
The name "Grand Sport" is entrenched in the racing history of the Chevrolet Corvette. Now, for the 2010 model year, there is a new edition that evokes memories of the racecars of the seventies - and Geigercars.de has already given these rockets an additional performance upgrade.
With the LS3 V8 under the bonnet, and the corresponding 430 hp and 575 Nm in torque, the Grand Sport is certainly not short of legs when it leaves the factory. But why be satisfied with production line performance, when tuning specialist Geigercars.de can give you something more? Thanks to the Munich pros, a supercharger with a fat 2.3 litres capacity sits on top of the eight-cylinder engine, which itself exhibits a volume of 6.2 litres. The result is a growth in the power of the Corvette to an immense 588 hp at 6,490 rpm, and torque of 738 Nm at 4,030 rpm. This ultimate sports car negotiates the sprint to 100 km/h in less than four seconds from contact, and it's not until reaching 337 km/h that the Geigercars.de rocket is forced to relent to wind resistance.
The Grand Sport impresses both aesthetically and technically, with wider front and rear fenders with additional vents, to accommodate the larger brakes of the sister model Z06 with its 355 mm, six-cylinder discs at the front axle, and 340 mm, four-cylinder discs at the rear. The front diffuser and larger rear spoiler are also borrowed from the engineers of the Corvette Z06. Sway bars, shock absorbers and springs have also been overhauled in addition to the six-speed transmission, while a dry sump oil system and differential cooler are also on board. The battery of the Grand Sport has been relocated to the rear. Optimum road contact is guaranteed by the 18 and 19 inch light alloy rims, with 275/35 and imposing 325/30 tyres.
Special factory-installed emblems on the front fenders, and not least the special graphics applied by Geigercars.de to the fenders, bonnet and boot lid, draw even the untrained eye to the character of this very special elite athlete - and underline that certain something about the entire project perfectly.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro to get new interior, Z28 option
While there has been near unanimous praise for the new Camaro's exterior, there have been mixed reactions over the interior. GM certainly wants to keep up with the new Mustang's duds, and this report from Inside Line says it's coming in the 2012 model year.
It also appears that the Z28 moniker will finally be dusted off and used again. Power is rumored to be supplied by the 6.2L V8 used in the Cadillac CTS-V which pumps out 550 horsepower, but only time will tell what kind of mill we will see in the new Z.
